The Battle of Delaney Hall
In May of 2026 a hunger strike began, held by immigrants imprisoned in the infamous Delaney Hall detention center in Newark, New Jersey. As news of the hunger strike and alleged retaliation against the strikers began to spread, large-scale protests broke out at the facility.
After weeks of daily violent clashes between ICE agents and protesters, New Jersey Governor Mikie Sherrill brought in state and local police forces, unleashing even more violence on the largely peaceful protests.
