Happy Birthday, Navy. Vote Republican.
On October 5, 2025, five days into a federal government shutdown, President Trump traveled to Naval Station Norfolk to mark the Navy’s 250th anniversary, delivering a speech that resembled a campaign rally more than a commemoration of our armed forces.
Flanked by an aircraft carrier with a fighter jet emblazoned with his name and “45-47” on the fuselage, Trump used his platform to attack his political enemies, calling out Democrats and referring to Los Angeles protesters as “animals” and “a foreign enemy” as planes flew overhead and sailors chanted "USA! USA!"
